How about some haunting horror for Halloween? Join our horrific suspenseful theme reading group in the Uppsala bookshop. 

Together with Helena Dahlgren (author of 100 Hemskaste) we’ll talk about Shirley Jackson’s The Haunting of Hill House (and other scary things). Nice cuppa’ tea and some delicious cake as usual. Book is in stock, sign up at the bookshop and book your seat (limited number of participants).

Why do some things scare me but they don’t scare my friend? What are you scared of? Being swept out to sea? Going on a trip? Losing something? 

At story time on Saturday 22 October we’ll hear about how sometimes scary things aren’t that scary after all.

Welcome all 3–6 year olds for storytelling in the Uppsala bookshop!

Do you want to write the next bestseller? There’s a trend in new novels: the word girl is in their titles. The 'Girl' in the title is more than a marketing or branding trend, but also another writing voice. We will explore this voice and writing technique with 4 novels as well as the writing you will do in this creative writing workshop with James van Loon.

Celebrate Culture Night with us! We start already at 11:00 (am) with Storytelling for Children. At 18:00 Ola Larsmo presents his new novel on emigrated Swedes in the slums of S:t Paul, Minnesota (in Swedish). Last out is Helena Dahlgren with 100 horrors at 19:30.

Come, queue up for the book event of the year! A new Harry Potter story released on Sunday 31st July 01:01 CET, and the shops are open! (The doors open on Saturday 30th July at 23:59 in both Uppsala and Stockholm.)

Doors will open at 23:59, the book is released at 01:01. (In Uppsala the festivities will begin already at 20:00 outside the shop.)

The Eighth Story. Nineteen Years Later.

Based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne, and John Tiffany, this is a new play written by Jack Thorne. The book is The Official Script Book (Rehearsal Edition) of the West End play. It is not a novel but is the eighth story in the Harry Potter series.

Dress up as your favourite character (fabulous prizes), eat pasties and tea, have fun while waiting to be among the first to see the book.

The Uppsala Slug Club will join us to celebrate this fabolous event in the Uppsala shop, with readings and all sorts of fun things!

MultiCon will join and add to the fun in the Stockholm shop.
