We are thrilled to introduce New York writer Bill Clegg, who will join us for breakfast in the Stockholm shop to discuss his bestselling debut novel Did You Ever Have a Family. Bill is one of New Yorks foremost literary agents, and the author of two previous memoirs.

These questions sent the new Bardolator Ruby Jand on a journey of exploration into the world of Shakespeare. On this morning, Ruby will discuss what Shakespeare means to us today, present some views on his life and plays, and read excerpts from her newly released book Shakespeare Calling.

Liam Callanan is an American author and professor of English at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. His novels include the critically acclaimed The Cloud Atlas and All Saints.

Join us for a cosy and informal breakfast meeting in the shop, where Liam will discuss and read from his latest book Listen & Other Stories, a fascinating collection of short stories. The Los Angels Times has called his writing ’masterful’.

We are delighted to welcome Lena Andersson to the Stockholm shop to celebrate the publication of the English paperback edition of her novel Wilful Disregard.

Few people will have missed the enormous success of the August Prize winning novel Wilful Disregard (Egenmäktigt förfarande). The book also received international acclaim, with The Guardian calling it ’funny, wise and extraordinary’.

On this evening she will be in conversation with Thomas Henley, bookseller at the Stockholm bookshop. The conversation is in English.

We are starting a new and exciting collaboration in Stockholm with Bio Rio. When they broadcast The National Theatre’s production of As You Like It, we welcome you to a special Reading Group meeting, at Bio Rio. We’ll read the play, and meet to discuss it as usual. Coffee, food and drinks will be available to purchase from the cafe and restaurant at Bio Rio.

Since The Uppsala English Bookshop first opened up its doors to the public that November day in 1995, a lot has happened: bigger (and bigger!) venue, a second shop opened in Stockholm, several reading groups and ­becoming a natural part of daily life in Uppsala.
