Award-winning British novelist, poet and short story writer Gerard Woodward is best known for his trilogy of stories about the Jones family--the second of which, I'll Go to Bed at Noon, was shortlisted for the 2004 Man Booker Prize. Adnan Mahmutovic is a lecturer and writer-in-residence at Stockholm University. He has published a novel, Thinner than a Hair, and recently released his collection of short stories, How to Fare Well and Stay Fair, which provides intimate portraits of Bosnian refugees. Both authors will be reading from their work and will engage in a Q & A with the audience. Light snacks will be provided. This event is open to everyone. No RSVP is required.

Troll Hunters event with Michael Dahl

American children's book author Michael Dahl – author of more than 200 books for children – will be visiting The English Bookshop in Gamla Stan on Wednesday, November 7 to read from his new series, Troll Hunters, sign books, and answer questions from young readers. All are welcome to join!

Presentations will be one hour each starting at 17.00, 18.00 and 19.00.

Martha Gale of the Stockholm Writer's Group presents her debut novel, Knowing Place.

Set in the Stockholm of the early 1970s, the novel tells the story of a spirited young American struggling to understand her surroundings, and herself, with the help of political refugees from Chile and the natives who know Sweden best: elderly people.
