The Uppsala bookshop is a alive with lots of activites during the weekend.

First we have Storytelling for children with Hannah – Saturday at 11 am in the shop.

Later on Saturday, at 1 pm, at Uppsala Stadsbibliotek – we will meet Josip Novakovich on The Uppsala International Authors Stage. No ticket needed for this event.

Concert with Ryan O'Reilly on Saturday the 10th

We have a special treat for you! On Saturday, May 10th, British singer-songwriter Ryan O'Reilly will do a concert in the shop.
No booking necessary, just drop in and listen to the lovely music. Just after closing time, at 16.15 the doors will open again and the concert will begin shortly.

Niel Bushnell – Sorrowline at The Uppsala International Authors Stage

Meet Niel Bushnell, animator and author of Sorrowline and Timesmith. Niel is our guest at the Uppsala Internationella Författarscen; a collaboration between us and the Stadsbibliotek.

  • Saturday 12/4, at 12 noon, at Uppsala City Library (Stadsbiblioteket)
  • No entrance fee, but book your ticket at Stadsbibliotek reception, 018-727 83 33. You need to collect your ticket at least 30 minutes before the event.

Poetry Evening in the Stockholm shop: Five international poets living locally will be sharing their verse. The evening will begin at 7 p.m. with light snacks. The readings will begin at 7:15. This event is open to everyone. No RSVP required.

Yes! It IS time to properly announce our fifth bianual Doctor Who Evening on April 10th!

We're shooting for doing this event at the shop, so seating is limited, make sure you book and pay for your tickets in good time. Our special guest this time is Doctor Who animation expert Niel Bushnell.

There WILL be a traditional dress up competition with prizes. And traditional Who-themed fika. And, well, cool things in general! So - want to come?

Sherlock evening in Stockholm - Thursday March 27


The game is afoot - Sherlock Evening at the Stockholm shop

Join us for an evening of Sherlockian interest and discussions in the Stockholm shop.

Morgan MalmMorgan Malm, one of Sweden’s foremost experts on Sherlock Holmes and Arthur Conan Doyle will give a talk entitled ”May I Marry Sherlock Holmes?”, there will be all sorts of books and merchandise on display and for sale, not to mention that there will also be tea and cake.

When?  Thursday the 27th of March, 7 pm
Where?  The English Bookshop, Lilla Nygatan 11, Gamla stan
How much? 60 kr. Limited space, book your seat in advance!
