Friday 27 March – Transforming Pain into Prose: The healing power of writing nonfiction
In this workshop, participants will learn to channelise personal pain into an authentic, and powerful story. The goal is to create a safe environment to express, reflect and heal. The topics covered are:
– Writing into pain
– Shaping the story
– Closing the circle through reflection
Tuesday 14 April – Defining the Structure of Your Memoir (Part 1)
Outline helps to see the big picture and provides a direction. It helps to answer, “what next?” to maintain the momentum of the story. In first session we will dig deep to lay the foundation to get clarity on the outline and cover following topics:
– Find clarity on core concepts
– Know your audience
– Chose the right structure of your non-fiction book
For the memoir theme, we recommend booking both Part 1 and Part 2 to get the whole story.
Monday 18 May – Defining the Structure of Your Memoir (Part 2)
In this second session we will go step by step and understand how a life story unfolds, deciding what moments to spotlight, what to withhold, and how meaning is revealed over time.
– High-level outline
– Chapter level design
– Testing and refining the outline
For the memoir theme, we recommend booking both Part 1 and Part 2 to get the whole story.
Monday 8 June – Why the First Line and First Paragraph Matter
The first line matters because it sets the emotional tone, voice, and truth with the reader. The first paragraph deepens the promise, grounds the reader in a moment or questions they care about. In this session, we will:
– Make compelling opening lines
– Establish voice and mood through first paragraph
– Write and discuss our opening lines and paragraphs
