SCHEDULE (Swedish time CEST)
11:00 ”The Whatifs” – storytelling from Minnesota for children
Start the day with a storytelling by author Emily Kilgore (a former Uppsala resident, now living in Minnesota) as she reads from her latest book. The Whatifs is about Cora and her Whatifs: little creatures that weigh her down with fear and worry-filled thoughts until she learns to shift her fears into positive, wonder-filled questions. A timely picture book about overcoming anxiety.
Video no longer available.
18:00 ”Poetry and Punk Rock in NYC” – a talk by Daniel Kane
In his book Do You Have a Band?, Daniel Kane reads deeply across poetry and punk music to capture the compelling exchange in the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s, between New York City poets and musicians that played together, published each other, and inspired one another to create groundbreaking art. Talk and Q&A. Daniel is the new Professor of American Literature at Uppsala Universitet, and has just moved here from New York.
